Information For Visitors

Thanks for planning to visit Central Baptist Church! Below is a list of frequently asked questions about our church. We look forward to meeting you!

What time is your service?

Our service beings at 10 AM and lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes.

Where should I park?

We have a small gravel parking lot on the side of the building. Feel free to park there. Additionally, you may park on either side of East Highland or Third Avenue.

What is a typical service?

A typical service will begin with a welcome and announcements about church events. The congregation then sings a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary woship songs. Special music follows by our choir, soloists, or our praise band. The congregation shares praise and prayer requests, followed by an offering. The sermon is usually 20-30 minutes long, followed by a closing hymn and benediction.

What about my children?

We offer a nursery for children who are unable to sit through the worship service. The nursery is available for children who have not entered kindergarten. The nursery is located off our Sunday School Auditorium and any member can help you find it. For school age children up to the age of 10, we offer Junior Church for half of the service. Children leave the worship service for Junior Church after the special music and before the offertory. You may choose to keep your children with you during the service. Our Sunday School classes for all ages are held before the worship service from 9:00 to 9:45 AM.

Am I expected to give money?

As a visitor, you are not expected to give money. We encourage our members to tithe in obedience to the Lord, or to practice percentage giving.

Can I take communion?

We offer communion on the first Sunday of each month and practice open communion. Anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior is welcome at our table, regardless of membership or denomination. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, or if you are unsure, we ask that you decline from taking communion.

Is there a dress code?

Absolutely not. Please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Our members will wear anything from a full suit to jeans and t-shirt and everything in between.
